Epididymis

The epididymis is a long, coiled tube located at the back of the testicle. It serves as the site where sperm mature and are stored after being produced in the seminiferous tubules of the testes. Sperm gain motility and the ability to fertilize an egg as they pass through the epididymis. During ejaculation, sperm are propelled from the epididymis into the vas deferens and then mixed with seminal fluid to form semen.
