Gravity
Gravity is the force that pulls objects toward the center of the Earth. Over time, gravity acts on all body tissues, including the breasts, contributing to sagging (ptosis) as skin and connective tissues lose elasticity.
Role in Breast Aging
- Cumulative Effect: Gravity's constant downward pull stretches the skin and Cooper's ligaments, especially in larger or heavier breasts.
- Not a Sole Cause: Gravity alone does not cause ptosis; it acts in combination with factors like age, genetics, weight changes, and loss of skin elasticity.
Writing Tips
- Use gravity to add realism to descriptions of aging or large breasts: "Her breasts, once high and full, now settled gently with the pull of years."
- Consider how gravity interacts with other factors (pregnancy, weight loss, menopause) to shape the body over time.
