Visual Enhancement

Visual enhancement describes techniques (makeup, clothing, lighting) used to accentuate desirable features and guide a reader's attention.

Techniques

• Highlighting: use gloss or highlighter on lips, cheekbones or collarbones to catch light.
• Contrast: pair matte clothing with glossy lips or dewy skin for focal contrast.
• Silhouette & cut: clothing that reveals or hints at shape (off‑shoulder, plunging necklines) can create anticipation.

Writing Tips

• Translate visual techniques into tactile and emotional detail — a sheen that feels like heat, a neckline that makes a character swallow.
